Dr. Alberto Sanna graduated in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, in Milan Italy. He has been in charge of healthcare process re-engineering projects at the Scientific Institute San Raffaele since 1989, leading highly innovative Information Technology and Automation & Robotics-driven clinical projects in the Nuclear Medicine, Clinical Lab, Hospital Pharmacy, Ward and Surgical Room. Since 1999 he is director of the e-Services for Life and Health Research Unit (www.eservices4life.org) and he’s successfully managing international R&D projects clustered in three main vertical research programs: SMARTer and SAFer HOSPITAL R&D Program for Patient Safety; SMARTer and HEALTHIer LIFE R&D Program for Disease Prevention and Well-Being Promotion; SMARTer and HEALTHIer CITY R&D Program and Living Lab for the City of the Future. During his career, Dr. Sanna has been presenting his research activities in top level international congresses. He has been constantly active in academic teaching in Information Technology courses at the University of Milan and the University of Insubria. Presently, he is teaching Information Technology for Predictive, Preventive and Personalized Medicine at the University Vita-Salute in Milano and he is the Scientific Director of an innovative Research Master in Service Design: e-Services for Life Design. He is author of edutainment videogames & formats and inventor of patents & trademarks in the field of innovative technologies for health and wellbeing.
