Résumé: A kit for the rapid detection of pathogens, preferably Listeria monocytogenes, in foods is described. It includes a microspot device constructed from a porous membrane, e.g. filter paper, impregnated with hydrophobic material to define individual wells and a solution of 1 or more indicators, to be applied to a well of this device, which produce a detectable change when in contact with a target pathogen. The kit may also include growth media for selection of pathogenic bacteria and instructions for use. Suitable indicators include 5-bromo-4-chloro-myo-inositol phosphate, chlorophenyl red beta-galactopyranoside, 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl- beta-D-glucuronide and 5-bromo-6-chloro-inositol caprylate (magenta caprylate).   http://www.google.com/patents/US20120238008
